BJP launches massive foot-march drive across all 2,309 Nagaon polling booths
BJP leaders, led by Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced a coordinated padyatra in every Nagaon booth on the final campaign day.
According to BJP media panelist Dilip Kumar Sarma, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spearheaded a high-intensity push in the Nagaon by-election, speaking at 15 major public meetings that spanned every assembly segment of the parliamentary constituency. The party announced that on the final day of campaigning, each of the 2,309 booth committees will launch a coordinated padyatra starting at 11:00 AM, involving party workers, local voters and supporters.
Over 1,100 meetings, both large and small, were held by a “galaxy” of senior leaders and star campaigners. Additionally, 25 mandal committees in Nagaon and Morigaon organized extensive door-to-door outreach and more than 5,000 courtyard gatherings. Various BJP wings independently conducted over 9,500 courtyard meetings, including efforts by Mahila, Yuva, Minority, Kisan, OBC, SC and ST morchas. The multi-tiered operation reflects the NDA’s aggressive attempt to cement voter support before the silence period.
Why it matters
The coordinated foot-march campaign shows the BJP’s intensive effort to secure the Nagaon seat ahead of the election silence period.
