BJP MLA's daughter caught on CCTV slapping police officer at Karnataka temple
CCTV footage shows Aishwarya, daughter of Tumakuru Rural BJP MLA B Suresh Gowda, striking police sub-inspector Savitha B Patil during a dispute over temple entry.
Surveillance cameras from the Aarti Ukkada temple recorded an altercation on August 12 between Aishwarya, the daughter of Tumakuru Rural BJP MLA B Suresh Gowda, and police sub-inspector Savitha B Patil. The dispute arose when Aishwarya attempted to bypass the queue for the sanctum sanctorum during Bhima Amavasya celebrations, prompting Savitha to ask her to wait. Aishwarya identified herself as the MLA's daughter and escalated the argument, eventually slapping the officer before Savitha struck back.
Bystanders intervened to separate the two. Savitha filed a complaint at Kyathanahalli police station, resulting in an FIR charging Aishwarya with assaulting a public servant, simple hurt, intentional insult and criminal intimidation. Aishwarya has filed a counter-complaint alleging abuse by the officer, which is under investigation. MLA Suresh Gowda apologized for his daughter's behavior, urged legal action against any wrongdoing, and advocated for a departmental probe while opposing VIP privileges at temples.
