BJP Uttar Pradesh leaders map 2027 election plan, targeting welfare and Gen Z
BJP senior leaders met at the state headquarters to outline a strategy for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh polls, focusing on welfare schemes and outreach to women and Gen Z.
Senior BJP officials gathered at the party’s Uttar Pradesh headquarters on Friday evening, with B L Santhosh, Vinod Tawde, Jagdish Patel, Pankaj Chaudhary, Yogi Adityanath and deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak in attendance. They reviewed preparations for the 2027 state election, planning to launch the Seva Sankalp and Sushasan campaigns on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
The agenda centered on communicating the benefits of central and state welfare schemes and tailoring messages for women and Generation Z voters. State president Chaudhary said a state working committee meeting would be convened soon after his recent appointment. When questioned about Akhilesh Yadav’s optimism, Chaudhary dismissed it, while spokesperson Dinesh Pratap Singh criticised the Samajwadi Party and Congress for past performance and alleged Dalit atrocities.
Why it matters
The plan will influence the BJP's bid for power in Uttar Pradesh, India's largest state, in the 2027 elections.
