Blacksmith reaches $1 billion valuation after $66 million Series C funding
AI testing startup Blacksmith secured a $66 million Series C round led by Sequoia Capital, pushing its valuation to $1 billion.
Blacksmith, which provides infrastructure for continuous integration testing, announced a $66 million Series C financing led by Sequoia Capital, valuing the firm at $1 billion. This round adds to a prior $45 million Series B led by Peak XV Partners, bringing total funding to about $124.5 million. The platform’s user base has doubled to more than 10,000 companies, among them Granola, Handshake, Supabase and LangChain, and weekly validation checks have risen from 5 million to 90 million.
Revenue now sits in the tens of millions, with the largest clients spending over $1 million annually. CEO Aditya Jayaprakash said most of the new money will purchase additional servers, as demand surges whenever a more capable AI coding model is released. Blacksmith operates its own hardware in data centers worldwide, a strategy that gives performance control but also ties the firm to the broader compute shortage. The company plans to grow its staff to about 75 employees by year-end.
Why it matters
The funding underscores growing demand for AI-driven code testing as developers rely more on automated validation.
