BMW rear-ends NYPD cruiser on Bronx expressway, vehicle flips and burns

A burgundy BMW collided with an NYPD patrol car on the Bruckner Expressway near East 144th Street, causing the police vehicle to overturn and catch fire, injuring two officers.

In the early hours of Friday, a burgundy BMW rear-ended a NYPD cruiser on the Bruckner Expressway close to East 144th Street in the Bronx. The collision caused the police vehicle to overturn and burst into flames, prompting an immediate emergency response. Two officers riding in the cruiser escaped with minor injuries to their arms and were later hospitalized in stable condition.

Firefighters from the FDNY arrived with sirens blaring, and an NYPD helicopter provided aerial support as the blaze burned. Video captured by FreedomNewsTV shows the flaming cruiser being hosed down and the fire finally being out by about 2:50 a.m.
