Body of missing Nottingham woman found after 11-day search

Holly Whittaker, 28, vanished from Nottingham’s Mapperley district on Sept 4, prompting a public appeal and an extensive search effort by Nottinghamshire Police. On Sept 15, officers found a female body in the vicinity of Queen’s Road in the city centre, and forensic identification confirmed it was Whittaker. Detectives have stated that, at this stage, the death is not being investigated as suspicious, though the inquiry continues.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould said specially trained officers are assisting the family during this difficult period and expressed gratitude to community members who offered tips. The police reiterated that the investigation into the circumstances of her death is ongoing. The case concludes the 11-day missing-person operation that began after her last sighting.
