Bomb squad evacuates homes in Sychdyn after suspected device discovered

A suspected bomb was reported in a garage on Ffordd Celyn in Sychdyn, a village on the outskirts of Mold in North Wales. Police, supported by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, established a cordon and evacuated a number of homes on the street. Residents described the incident lasting about three hours, with the road and a nearby park blocked during the investigation. The device was taken away to a nearby field where a controlled explosion was carried out. After the operation, the area was declared safe and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
