Bomb squad secures Sheffield home, evacuates neighbours and imposes 100-metre cordon
A bomb disposal team responded to a house on Mapplebeck Road in High Green, Sheffield, leading to the evacuation of nearby homes and a 100-metre safety cordon.
On Tuesday evening, South Yorkshire Police set up a 100-metre (328-foot) cordon around a house on Mapplebeck Road in Sheffield's High Green district after a discovery required specialist action. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team arrived, with an EOD van parked beside the property while nearby homes were evacuated for safety. Road closures affect Mapplebeck Road and several adjacent streets, and displaced residents have been sent to a local rest centre. No injuries have been reported.
