Bomb threat email forces evacuation of two Budapest schools

A threatening email warning of a bomb was sent to two schools in Budapest's XV district, prompting police to inspect the buildings and authorities to relocate students.

A bomb-threat letter was emailed to Kontyfa Általános Iskola és Gimnázium and Pestújhelyi Általános Iskola in Budapest's XV district on Wednesday night. Police started a detailed inspection of the two school buildings on Thursday morning after the threat was reported. The mayor confirmed that children were promptly placed in safe locations, specifically the Pestújhelyi Community House and Hartyán Általános Iskola, while parents were urged not to send their kids to school on Thursday.

The threatening letter was also forwarded to the local police headquarters. School officials asked families to keep children at home and to collect any students who were already on campus as soon as possible.
