Bomb threat emails trigger evacuations at several Delhi schools

Multiple schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Monday, leading police and fire services to evacuate students and conduct safety checks.

Bomb threat emails were sent to several schools across Delhi on Monday, prompting immediate action from law-enforcement and fire-rescue teams. The alerts reached Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Chinmaya Vidyalaya and other institutions in the Lutyens’ Delhi area between 11 am and noon. School officials alerted the police and the fire control room, which dispatched fire tenders and personnel to oversee evacuations.

Police units arrived with bomb-detection squads, sniffer dogs and other specialists to carry out anti-sabotage checks. A fire-service call from Vasant Vihar at 12:30 pm led to a rapid response, and by the end of the operation no suspicious items were discovered. Parents were informed that students had been safely moved outside and that classes would restart once the premises were declared secure.
