Boox opens pre-orders for the ultra-compact Picco e-reader
Boox has started taking pre-orders for its new Picco e-reader, a pocket-sized device priced from $100 and slated to ship in November.
Boox announced that customers can now pre-order the Picco, its smallest e-reader to date, which is about the dimensions of a standard playing card. The device features a 3.94-inch ePaper display at 235 PPI, weighs roughly 58 grams, and combines physical page-turn buttons with a touchscreen that supports four-way orientation. An adjustable front light offers warm and cool tones, and a magnetic ring case lets users clip the reader to the back of a phone for easy transport.
Storage starts at 16 GB of internal memory, with support for microSD cards up to 2 TB, allowing a large library of books. The Picco is priced from $100 and is expected to begin shipping in November, marking Boox's entry into its new "Boox Tiles" line of unconventional ePaper products.
