Border Patrol Council backs Michael Whatley in North Carolina Senate contest

At multiple venues throughout North Carolina, Paul Perez, president of the National Border Patrol Council, revealed that the union would endorse Republican candidate Michael Whatley for the U.S. Senate. Representing about 18,000 Border Patrol officers and support personnel, the council highlighted Whatley's record of advocating for robust border protection and backing frontline agents. In a statement, Perez praised Whatley as a reliable ally for securing the nation’s borders.

Whatley responded by expressing pride in the council’s support and reaffirmed his pledge to maintain a strong and secure border. The endorsement marks another political involvement by the NBPC, which has previously backed candidates from both parties.
