Border police discover 35 migrants hidden in truck on A2 near Poznań
Police and border guards intercepted a truck on the A2 highway near Poznań and found 35 migrants concealed in its cargo area.
On Monday, September 14, law-enforcement units received a report of a suspicious vehicle near the toll point on the A2 highway close to Nagradowice, west of Poznań. When they examined the truck, they discovered 35 migrants of different citizenships hidden in the cargo space, prompting their arrest on suspicion of illegal stay. Emergency responders were called because the conditions inside the vehicle were harsh; three fire-brigade units and a prison-bus were sent, and one individual required medical attention.
Access to the nearby parking area was temporarily blocked. Police and the Nadodrzański Border Guard unit coordinated the operation, while the regional fire-department command oversaw the rescue efforts. Authorities are now investigating the circumstances of the transport and the legal status of those detained.
