Bose Revives Wired Earbuds, Targeting Teens Amid Resurgence of Cable Audio
Bose has launched Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds as wired headphone sales climb, a trend driven by Gen Z and Gen A listeners.
After an 11-year hiatus, Bose reentered the wired headphone market with its Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds, responding to a rebound in wired sales that rose 10 % in late 2025 and 20 % early in 2026, largely fueled by younger consumers. Raza Haider, Bose’s president of consumer audio, noted the prevalence of wired earbuds among teens he encountered at college. The company compressed the design and production cycle to about eight or nine months, aiming for faster rollouts.
Reviewers highlighted the earbuds’ clear sound across the spectrum and effective active noise cancellation, while noting the heavier control module and cable thickness as minor drawbacks. The earbuds ship in three colors, start shipping on October 15, and can be pre-ordered from Bose and Best Buy.
Why it matters
The launch signals a notable shift back to wired audio, reshaping market dynamics for headphones and accessories.
