Bose unveils second-gen Ultra Open Earbuds and lower-priced Sport Open model
Bose introduced its second-generation Ultra Open Earbuds with stronger bass, louder output and up to nine hours of playtime, alongside a new Sport Open version priced $100 less.
Bose announced a revamped Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) that retain the clip-on design but add a beveled metal cap, a more powerful driver and a Cinema Mode built on TrueSpatial technology for a broader, immersive soundstage. The earbuds now reach up to nine hours of listening time, up from seven, while the redesigned case provides 19.5 extra hours and can sit upright on a wireless charger. Alongside the premium model, Bose launched the Sport Open Earbuds, a $100 cheaper option that uses a thinner cuff with a soft silicone matte finish for a secure fit during vigorous activity, and includes automatic volume adjustments based on ambient noise.
The Sport version offers seven hours of playback plus 22 hours from its wireless charging case. Preorders start on September 19, with availability slated for October 1, and color choices range from classic black to sky pink for the Ultra model and eucalyptus green for the Sport model.
Why it matters
The launch expands Bose's open-ear lineup, offering consumers louder sound and longer battery life for both everyday and active use.
