Boston Scientific hit by cyberattack that stalls order processing worldwide

Boston Scientific announced that a cyberattack uncovered on Tuesday is interfering with its worldwide operations, including the platforms that handle order processing and shipment. The firm has engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to examine the incident and limit further damage. Restoration efforts are underway, but the company cannot yet estimate when all systems will be fully functional.

The disruption caused the company's stock to fall as much as 6% in early market activity. Research from cybersecurity firm BlackFog indicates that the healthcare industry accounted for 22% of disclosed attacks in 2025, making it a prime target for ransomware. Boston Scientific produces a variety of medical technologies, ranging from cardiovascular devices to cancer-treatment tools and gastrointestinal diagnostics.
