Brad Pitt and David Ayer bring new film “Heart of the Beast” to San Sebastian Festival

Brad Pitt and filmmaker David Ayer are set to attend the 74th San Sebastian Film Festival, where Paramount Pictures’ new drama Heart of the Beast will be shown out of competition. In the story, Pitt plays a ex-Special Forces operative forced to survive in the Alaskan wilderness alongside his retired combat dog after a catastrophic plane crash. The cast is rounded out by J.K.

Simmons, Anna Lambe and others, and the screenplay was written by Cameron Alexander. Production credits include Pitt, Olivia Hamilton, Marty Bowen and Ayer, with Damien Chazelle serving as an executive producer. The festival’s official selection now totals 17 competition titles, three out-of-competition screenings and five special presentations, with Werner Herzog receiving the Donostia Award.
