Director Brady Corbet is editing a concert film of David Byrne's 2025-26 "Who Is the Sky?" tour, shot in large-format 70mm at Baltimore’s Hippodrome.
Brady Corbet, known for "The Brutalist," is finalizing a concert documentary of David Byrne's "Who Is the Sky?" tour, employing both 8-perf and 15-perf 70mm formats to capture the show's expansive visual design. Filming took place across multiple evenings in May at the Hippodrome in Baltimore, Byrne's native city, with on-site audiences noting the presence of a film crew. The picture is being produced by The Deep End Films together with Corbet's Pre-Code and River Road Entertainment, featuring producers Amit Dey, Jason Fine, Corbet, Maddie Browning, and Byrne, among others, and executive producers Bill Pohlad, Andrew van Wyk, Michael Overman, Meredith and Martin Sumner, Sam Fayed, and Adam Gibbs.
Distribution rights are being negotiated by Byrne’s agents at the Gersh Agency and The Deep End, though release plans and potential 70mm screenings have not been announced. The effort joins a lineage of high-profile concert films, including Spike Lee’s "American Utopia" and earlier works by Jonathan Demme. Byrne continues the tour, with upcoming dates at the Hollywood Bowl and a final North American stop at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens.
