The regulator also approved a compliance plan that will set the most restrictive privacy defaults for accounts under 16, requiring parental consent for any changes. The action follows President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s campaign for tighter digital safeguards for minors as he seeks a fourth term, and comes after recent measures against other platforms such as Discord. TikTok’s Brazilian press office has not responded to comment requests.
