Competing at the CONMEBOL South American U-17 tournament, Brazil’s men’s futsal team completed the first phase with four straight wins, amassing 12 points. The final group match saw Brazil defeat Argentina 2-0 at the Complejo Suma venue, with goals from Tuco and Jhon. Earlier victories included a 5-1 opening win over Ecuador, a 5-2 triumph against Bolivia and a 9-0 rout of Peru.
Jhon emerged as the tournament’s leading scorer with four goals, while Luka and Jhon each contributed three assists. Coach Diogo Barros highlighted the team’s progressive play and the advantage of having a fully fit roster for the upcoming semifinal against Paraguay, scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m. Brasília time, to be broadcast on SporTV.
