Brazilian caretaker arrested for killing French rally driver and partner in Portugal

Authorities in the Algarve region uncovered the murders of French rally veteran Jean-Marie Grenier, 79, and his Romanian companion Milena, 62, at their Odiáxere residence near Lagos. The bodies were hidden inside a water cistern on the property, and forensic evidence suggests a blunt-force attack followed by the possible use of chemicals to speed up decay. A Brazilian man, identified as Natalio C., aged 45, who had served as the couple's caretaker for roughly seven years, was arrested after police found him in possession of a substantial amount of money and items likely belonging to the victims.
He was originally recruited after the couple experienced a violent burglary in 2019, and family members had previously advised that he was not to be trusted due to intrusive behavior. The case is being investigated by Portuguese judicial police.
