Brazilian illegal immigrant arrested for killing Massachusetts woman in her home

Federal authorities have taken Flavio Alcantara Dias into custody after he allegedly strangled 33-year-old Brianna Connolly inside her Framingham, Massachusetts home. Dias, a 43-year-old Brazilian who entered the country illegally in April 2019, was released by the Biden administration following an immigration judge’s decision to terminate his hearings despite earlier DUI and assault arrests. During a 911 call, Dias told operators that a homicide had occurred, claimed he acted “by mistake,” and said he suffocated Connolly after a drug-related argument over sex.

Investigators reported blood marks on Connolly’s forehead and the back of her head, as well as a fabric cord around her neck. The Department of Homeland Security called on the Framingham Police Department to work with ICE to transfer Dias out of the community. Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Brandt presented the evidence in court, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement against criminal illegal immigrants.
