Brendan O'Carroll postpones 2026 Mrs Brown's Boys holiday specials after jaw fracture

Brendan O'Carroll, who writes and stars in the sitcom Mrs Brown's Boys, used Instagram to explain that a recent CT scan identified two breaks in his jaw, prompting urgent surgery and a recovery period of a few months. As a result, the 2026 Christmas and New Year specials slated for filming at one outlet Scotland studios in Glasgow have been cancelled. He also postponed his scheduled festive stage performances in Dublin and Killarney, aiming to reschedule them for 2027.

O'Carroll expressed disappointment, apologized to fans, and confirmed discussions with one outlet about returning the show in 2027. He thanked the production company MCD and one outlet for their understanding, while one outlet spokesperson wished him a swift recovery and noted ongoing planning for the series' future.
