Brisbane 2032 Olympic Committee Chief Cindy Hook to Exit After Four-Year Term
Cindy Hook announced she will leave her role as CEO of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games organising committee at the end of her contract next year.
The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games organising committee is preparing for a leadership transition as chief executive Cindy Hook confirmed she will step down at the conclusion of her four-year contract early next year. A global executive search will commence without delay to find her replacement. Hook, appointed in December 2022, reflected that the organisation now has a firm foundation and is ready for the next operational phase.
President Andrew Liveris commended her for transforming the committee from a start-up into a mature body with strong values, financial discipline, and a capable team. IOC Coordination Commission chair Mikaela Cojuangco-Jaworski added that Hook maximised the long preparation period, delivering a clear Games vision, legacy strategy, and the first commercial partnership. The change comes as the committee moves from planning to the critical stage of project delivery and event execution.
Why it matters
Leadership change could shape how Brisbane prepares for and delivers the 2032 Olympic Games.
