British daughter says she gave dying mother a lethal dose for dignity

Emma Nightingale, a 36-year-old Briton, said her 70-year-old mother, Lorna, repeatedly begged for a lethal dose of medication because chronic illness had become unbearable. Nightingale described her mother's ailments, including kidney failure, dental decay and loss of sight, and recounted that Lorna wanted to die peacefully at home rather than travel abroad.
