British hiker Alexander Harris recovered dead after mountain search in northern Pakistan
The body of British trekker Alexander Harris was discovered on a forest path in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after a large-scale rescue effort.
British adventurer Alexander Harris, originally from Birmingham and also an Irish citizen, went missing on Saturday while coming down from the summit of Musa Ka Musala, a 4,000-meter peak in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. He had set out at about 05:40 local time with a companion, but the two became separated as Harris moved ahead and rain began. Deputy commissioner Khalid Iqbal reported that a search involving between 250 and 300 police officers, volunteers and drones was launched, though poor visibility limited aerial efforts.
The body was later located on a forested path, with officials believing he slipped and fell. Harris was employed by Adam Smith International in Islamabad and was known for participating in long-distance trail races. His running club, Margalla Trail Runners, expressed condolences, and Adam Smith International released a statement honoring his love for Pakistan and its people.
