British rapper Yung Filly allowed to return home before Australian rape retrial

Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, known as Yung Filly, was convicted by a Western Australian jury of assaulting a woman in a Perth hotel in September 2024, while a jury could not reach verdicts on three rape allegations. Prosecutors announced a retrial on three other rape counts, prompting Judge Linda Black to modify his bail so he may reside in Britain until the case resumes. He must travel back to Perth at least ten days before the retrial and surrender his passport within 24 hours of arrival.

Contact with the alleged victim and a key prosecution witness is prohibited, as is any public comment on the matter. Sentencing for the assault convictions will follow after the pending rape verdicts, each carrying up to five years, while rape convictions could bring up to 14 years each.
