British referee killed in Florida hit-and-run, family seeks to bring him home

A 26-year-old British man, identified as Brandon Grimes, died after being struck in a hit-and-run in Florida, and his family is raising funds to repatriate his body.

Brandon Grimes, a 26-year-old British football referee, was fatally injured in a hit-and-run incident in Florida on September 25 while on a US holiday. His partner, David Jackson, described the loss as devastating and said they have received little information from American officials. The family, which includes numerous siblings, nieces, a grandmother and a grandfather, is seeking an international funeral director to arrange his return.

To fund the repatriation, they created a GoFundMe page that has raised over £9,000 toward a £16,000 target. They continue to appeal for assistance and answers as they mourn his death.
