Brother of Adama and Assa Traoré arrested in Seine-Saint-Denis on identity fraud charges
Bagui Traoré, the sibling of Adama and Assa Traoré, was detained in Dugny after police found he used a false identity and tried to flee.
Authorities in Seine-Saint-Denis arrested Bagui Traoré, the brother of Adama and Assa Traoré, on suspicion of identity theft and attempted escape. The BAC team acted on information from the Beaumont-sur-Oise gendarmerie that the wanted man, listed on eight entries of the national wanted file, was in the Dugny area. At around 21:30 on Avenue Louis Larivière, officers stopped him; he initially gave a false name, but a search revealed his true passport.
When he tried to run, officers detained him and placed him in garde à vue. Bagui Traoré, 35, has previously been convicted eighteen times, five of which were for extortion. He reportedly asked that his sister, a well-known activist against police violence, be notified of his detention.
