BTS breaks $500 million barrier in worldwide tour ticket sales
South Korea's BTS has become the first pop act to exceed $500 million in cumulative ticket revenue on its ongoing Arirang world tour.
BTS’s ongoing Arirang world tour has pushed the South Korean septet past the $500 million threshold in total ticket sales, making them the first pop group to do so. The achievement follows a pattern where only six previous acts, all rock bands, have crossed the same figure. August’s leg of the tour alone comprised 12 concerts, drew about 800,000 attendees and produced $171.7 million in ticket revenue, according to the latest Boxscore figures.
Billboard’s data also shows BTS leading its monthly Top Tours chart for a fifth time, ranking behind Bad Bunny for most number-one placements and behind Beyoncé, Coldplay and Elton John for total weekly wins. The August earnings rank as the second-largest monthly total in Boxscore history, second only to Beyoncé’s August 2023 haul. With roughly 40 dates still to play, projections suggest the tour could near $1 billion in overall earnings.
