BTS leader RM showcases personal art collection at SFMOMA in new exhibition

RM, the frontman of BTS, is presenting roughly 140 pieces from his own collection at San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art in a show titled "RM X SFMOMA: Between You and Me."

San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art will host an exhibition called "RM X SFMOMA: Between You and Me," featuring roughly 140 artworks from the personal collection of RM, the leader of BTS, alongside works from the museum's own holdings for a total of about 180 pieces. The show opens this Saturday and will remain on view until February 7. RM worked closely with SFMOMA co-curators America Castillo and Kim Hyo-eun to choose the artworks, which highlight prominent Korean modern and contemporary creators such as Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rae-hyun and Chang Uc-chin, as well as internationally recognized artists like Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin and Henri Matisse.

He wrote the exhibition texts in both Korean and English, recorded bilingual audio guides, and selected the music that will play in the galleries. The exhibition represents the first time his collection is displayed in a museum and the inaugural collaboration between SFMOMA and a K-pop figure.
