Buc-ee's marked its entry into Arkansas by opening a 74,000-square-foot travel center in Benton on Monday morning, featuring 120 fueling positions and a menu of Texas barbecue, fudge, kolaches and other snacks. The facility, located at 1400 Highway 229, is projected to generate more than 200 jobs for the local economy. Stan Beard, representing the company, said the Benton location was chosen for its central position near attractions like Hot Springs and Little Rock, promising visitors clean restrooms and a memorable pit stop.
The new store brings the chain’s total to 58 locations across the United States, expanding from its original Texas base where it operates 37 stores. Recent openings include sites in San Marcos, Texas, Huber Heights, Ohio, and Goodyear, Arizona, underscoring an aggressive growth strategy. Additional travel centers are planned for Murfreesboro, Tennessee in November, with six more slated for 2027 in states such as Louisiana and Kansas, and further expansions through 2029 and beyond.
