Bucharest driver parks car on Black Sea beach, sparking online outrage

A driver from Bucharest drove his car onto Cap Aurora beach, prompting viral social-media posts and calls for authorities to act.

A Bucharest motorist managed to drive his automobile all the way to the edge of the Black Sea at Cap Aurora, as documented by Litoral Sud Online. The video went viral, eliciting angry comments online that urged police and local water authorities to enforce the ban on vehicle use on beaches. The vehicle’s registration plate shows it belongs to the municipality of Bucharest, yet no information has emerged about the driver’s identity or whether a fine has been issued.

The original Facebook post included a humorous caption and tagged both the Romanian Police and the Dobrogea-Litoral Water Administration. According to the applicable legal framework, beaches cannot be used for regular car circulation or parking, and violations are punishable by monetary sanctions. Public reaction has focused on perceived arrogance and the potential for a penalty, though official action has not yet been reported.
