Budaörs refuses to remit October solidarity levy to state treasury

Mayor Tamás Wittinghoff sent a public letter to the president of the Magyar Államkincár stating that Budaörs will not submit the October solidarity contribution. He referenced a complaint filed a year and a half ago over regular payments to the central budget. The Alkotmánybíróság this week ruled in Budaörs' favor, finding the levy unconstitutional.

Consequently, the mayor declared the town will cease the practice. The municipal administration also noted that the constitutional court’s decision led to the cancellation of the relevant section of the 2025 central budget law and the ministerial decree governing municipal solidarity contributions for 2025.
