Buffalo Wild Wings shuts two California bars amid nationwide downsizing
Buffalo Wild Wings has closed its San Jose and Long Beach locations in 2026, joining a series of closures across the United States.
In 2026, Buffalo Wild Wings discontinued operations at two California sites, one located on Saratoga Avenue in San Jose and the other on East Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach. These closures are part of a broader pattern that has seen the chain exit locations in Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia, Kansas, Virginia and New York during the same year. The Ann Arbor, Michigan restaurant, which had been open for more than two decades, shut in May, with its manager Paul Creely attributing the loss to customers tightening their dining budgets.
While the chain remains the largest U.S. sports-bar franchise with more than 1,400 locations, it is reportedly refocusing on takeout-oriented concepts and expanding its franchise model. California patrons can still visit remaining venues, including four in Los Angeles, and the chain recently launched a limited-time “throwback” menu featuring 2000s-era items.
