Bulgarian siblings set for sentencing over Dundee girls' assault
Ilia Belov, 23, and his sister Nadjedzha Belova, 20, will be sentenced on Friday for assaulting several girls in Dundee last August.
Two Bulgarian siblings, Ilia Belov, 23, and Nadjedzha Belova, 20, are scheduled to receive sentences on Friday for a series of assaults on teenage girls in Dundee's Lochee area in August 2025. Belov was convicted of threatening a 12-year-old and abusing four girls aged between 12 and 14, while his sister admitted to assaulting a 13-year-old. Court testimony revealed that Belov made sexual remarks to a girl walking to a bus stop, prompting her to shout at him; he then called his sister, who arrived and attacked another girl.
During the melee, the 12-year-old fell, hit her head, and later produced an axe and knife she had hidden, which she discarded when police arrived. Belov claimed he pushed the girl to protect his sister and denied the sexual comments, but Sheriff Niven-Smith dismissed his account as unreliable.
