Bundelkhand draws over ₹80,000 crore in new investment proposals
Uttar Pradesh’s Bundelkhand region has secured investment proposals exceeding ₹80,000 crore across sectors such as energy, data centres, infrastructure and tourism.
Bundelkhand’s attraction of more than ₹80,000 crore in investment proposals reflects the impact of new infrastructure, notably the 296-kilometre Bundelkhand Expressway and the launch of the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority and the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, which has sites in Jhansi and Chitrakoot. These projects contribute to a statewide total of about ₹7.35 trillion in roughly 7,000 proposals covering manufacturing, energy, real estate, IT, data centres, food processing and other sectors.
Manufacturing accounts for the largest share at ₹2.75 trillion, while data centres attract ₹1.80 trillion and both energy and infrastructure each draw ₹1.5 trillion. Western Uttar Pradesh leads with ₹4.75 trillion, while Eastern and Central regions have secured ₹1.20 trillion and ₹80,000 crore respectively. The state plans a Ground Breaking Ceremony in December 2026 in Lucknow, to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urging swift approvals and incentives to accelerate job creation and economic growth.
Why it matters
The inflow could boost Uttar Pradesh’s economy, create jobs and position Bundelkhand as a new industrial hub.
