Bursa Malaysia opens higher as oil prices dip and US yields ease
The Bursa Malaysia index rose at the start of trade, helped by lower crude prices, softer US Treasury yields and solid labour data.
On Friday, the Malaysian stock market began the day up, with the benchmark index gaining 1.98 points to 1,676.72. The rally was driven by a decline in oil prices, a pullback in US Treasury yields and encouraging employment figures. Analysts expect the market to stay within a narrow range of 1,670 to 1,685 for the session. Meanwhile, major cryptocurrencies slipped, with Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana all posting lower prices in ringgit terms.
