Bus ambush in Hims kills Syrian Electricity Company worker amid gas pipeline incidents
The assault on a public bus in Hims left a Syrian Electricity Company worker dead and several other commuters wounded. The victims included engineers and staff from a private firm. The attack occurred shortly after state media reported a gas pipeline explosion near a major power plant close to Damascus, and two days after another pipeline was deliberately damaged in eastern Syria. Human-rights monitors noted that the victims in Hims belong to the Alawite minority, which has previously been targeted.
