Bus carrying Maharashtra pilgrims crashes into burning trailer near Jaipur, 3 dead
A bus transporting pilgrims from Maharashtra collided with a trailer on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway near Bagru, killing three and injuring seven.
Early Saturday around 1.50 am, a bus with 28 pilgrims from Nashik, Maharashtra, heading to the Sanwalia Seth temple in Chittorgarh, collided with a burning trailer on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway in the Bagru area of Jaipur. The crash occurred as the bus descended the Bagru culvert, trapping passengers in the front section; three men—Mahendra (38), Sandeep (45) and Deepak (47)—were killed on the spot. Seven others sustained injuries; two were admitted in critical condition, three placed under observation, and two released after first aid at Sawai Man Singh Hospital’s trauma centre under senior doctors.
Bagru station house officer Chandrabhan confirmed the trailer was ablaze at impact, and police said a full investigation will determine the exact cause. The incident follows a separate fatal road accident in the Jaipur district the previous day.
