California firm recalls nearly 180,000 Amazon-sold finger light toys over battery hazard

Cade California Electronic announced a recall of 179,739 finger light toys that were marketed on Amazon from March 2015 through July 2026. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the products breach safety rules because children can easily access the three button cell batteries each unit contains. If ingested, these batteries may lead to severe internal chemical burns and potentially fatal outcomes.

The toys, priced between $5 and $16, are packaged in boxes of 50 and come in white, blue, red, and green, with "California Cade Electronic" and "Finger Flashlights" printed on the front. The agency has urged parents to immediately take the toys away from children and to return them for a full refund, noting that no injuries have been reported to date. Additionally, the recall notice stresses that the batteries should be discarded or recycled according to one outlet guidelines.
