California lawmakers press Trump for $2 billion transit aid for 2028 Olympics

A group of five Los Angeles-area members of Congress convened in West Hollywood to urge the Trump administration to accelerate $2 billion in federal transportation funding for the 2028 Summer Olympics. The request coincided with City Controller Kenneth Mejia’s call for LA28 to provide missing financial records, noting the nonprofit has met only two of nine contractual reporting requirements. Sydney Kamlager-Dove highlighted previous letters to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and stressed that the United States, not just Los Angeles, is hosting the Olympics.
