Cameroon goalkeeper Bihina clinches semifinal win over hosts Morocco in shootout

Cameroon reached the 2026 WAFCON final after goalkeeper Michaely Bihina saved a late penalty and three shootout attempts against host Morocco.

The Rabat semifinal stayed scoreless through extra time until Bihina denied Fatima Tagnaout’s 12-yard penalty in the 118th minute. In the shootout she stopped Kenza Chappelle, Maryame Atiq and Sakina Ouzraoui, enabling teenage defender Maryam Nyadjou to net the decisive spot-kick for a 3-1 win. Cameroon will face Malawi in the final, while Morocco exit on home soil.

Why it matters

The result decides the final matchup of Africa’s premier women’s football tournament.
