Car collisions kill two people in Malaysia and two in Canberra after striking cyclists

Early this morning a car traveling eastbound on the Kota Baru‑Ketereh Highway in Kelantan collided with two cyclists at kilometre 18, killing Zamrie Rismawadi Mahmet and Nik Zaki Yamani Nik Abdul Aziz, both 49. Police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the driver, a man in his twenties, is under investigation under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987. In Canberra, a car hit five cyclists on Gungahlin Drive, resulting in the death of a woman at the scene and a man who later died in hospital. Both incidents involve vehicles striking groups of cyclists and have resulted in fatalities.
