Carville urges Democrats to skip a third Trump impeachment if they win House

Democratic strategist James Carville warned that pursuing another impeachment of Donald Trump would likely fail and distract from investigations if Democrats take the House.

Veteran Democratic operative James Carville told listeners that a third impeachment of Donald Trump would be improbable to succeed and would divert energy from more productive oversight. Speaking with Al Hunt on the "Politics War Room" podcast, both emphasized that Democrats should concentrate on investigative work rather than a likely futile impeachment vote in the Senate. Carville pointed to the Supreme Court’s stance as a barrier to holding the president accountable through impeachment.

Hunt added that the party needs to avoid missions that won’t achieve results. Former Democratic advisor Dan Turrentine agreed, saying the math of securing 67 Senate votes is unfavorable and voters expect focused governance. The discussion highlighted the strategic shift toward building a case for future accountability rather than immediate removal.
