Casey Affleck's Gothic Thriller 'Company' Receives Standing Ovation at Venice

At the Venice Film Festival, Casey Affleck's gothic thriller 'Company' opened to a four-minute standing ovation, prompting an emotional response from the director and co-star Nick Nolte. Set in 1975, the narrative centers on a mysterious visitor who tells the tale of an aging hermit rescuing an actress during a Colorado snowstorm, weaving together generational stories about loss, vengeance and redemption. The ensemble cast, featuring Indiana Affleck, Emily Alyn Lind, Scoot McNairy, Adelaide Clemens and Caylee Cowan, applauded from the audience.

The production also introduces Affleck’s son Atticus on screen for the first time and serves as Indiana Affleck’s second film role. 'Company' is Affleck’s third directorial effort, following 'Light of My Life' and the mockumentary 'I’m Still Here', and is produced by his brother Ben’s company Artist Equity, which is now seeking distribution.
