Casey Affleck’s Gothic Drama ‘Company’ Features Multiple Family Members
Casey Affleck’s third directorial film, Company, will debut at the Venice Film Festival and includes several of his relatives in the cast.
Company, Casey Affleck’s third feature as director, is scheduled to premiere at the Venice Film Festival next week. The story weaves a gothic mystery across 1975, 1953 and 1903, with Emily Alyn Lind opening the narrative and Nick Nolte portraying an isolated mountain man. Affleck enlisted his youngest son Atticus for the central part, marking the boy’s acting debut, and his eldest son Indiana helped with various crew tasks.
His long-time partner Caylee Cowan appears as a 1950s actress, and both of Affleck’s parents are featured in the film, which is dedicated to them after their recent deaths. Production took place over a two-week period on Whistler Mountain, Canada, using a rotating crew and extensive favors due to a $6 million budget shortfall.
