Casino employee stabs five coworkers at Thunder Valley Resort in Lincoln
A kitchen staff member at Thunder Valley Casino Resort attacked five fellow employees with a knife, injuring them but causing no life-threatening wounds.
Police were alerted to a knife attack at the Dos Coyotes Border Cafe within Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln at approximately 7 p.m. The assailant, a male employee in his 20s who remained in his kitchen apron, stabbed five coworkers before being detained within minutes of officers reaching the scene. Emergency personnel from the casino and Cal Fire treated four victims on the casino floor, and a fifth was transported to a hospital; none of the injuries were deemed life-threatening.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office indicated the suspect was acquainted with all those injured and that no additional suspects are being sought. The casino stayed open after the incident, though the restaurant was closed for the evening. Officials emphasized that there is no ongoing danger to the public.
