Casio unveils G-Shock “CasioNaut” models that echo Patek Philippe’s Nautilus
Casio’s leaked GMC-2500 and GAC-2500 G-Shock watches, nicknamed “CasioNaut,” mimic the Nautilus’s shape and will debut in November with resin versions priced about $134 and steel versions around $320.
Casio is set to expand its G-Shock lineup with the GMC-2500 and GAC-2500 series, designs that closely resemble the Patek Philippe Nautilus thanks to pronounced side shoulders. Leaked images show four resin colourways—white, black, green and yellow—priced near 20,900 yen (approximately $134), while steel variants will retail for about $320 and may feature extra colour and strap choices. The watches break from typical G-Shock practice by being fully analog, featuring a small seconds sub-dial and a date window, and employing a magnetic holding structure that lets the hands absorb shocks without breaking.
Dimensions are roughly 46.7 × 44 mm with a thickness around 12.8 mm. The design lineage traces back to the 1983 DW-5000C, and the “CasioNaut” moniker reflects its homage to the Nautilus, a shape originally conceived by Gérald Genta for Patek Philippe in 1976. The collection is slated for a November release.
