Caspian Airlines aircraft detained at Istanbul Airport over unpaid €3 million debt
An Iranian Caspian Airlines plane was seized at Istanbul Airport after authorities acted on a €3 million debt claim.
Legal action had been launched against Caspian Airlines for failing to pay a Turkish aviation services firm. When the aircraft, registered EP-KPB, was about to leave for Iran, lawyers for the creditor and enforcement officers arrived at the airport. Officials ordered the flight grounded, passengers were taken off the plane and returned to the terminal, and the aircraft was placed under seizure.
